Stella Blu Closing for Extreme Makeover

Six year old Stella Blu in West Conshohocken is getting an extreme makeover. The restaurant will close after dinner this Sat., Oct. 20. Construction will be completed by early December. In the meantime, gift certificates can be redeemed at Gypsy Saloon.

In the front of the house, the dining room will get a new layout with a much bigger bar. The new look will be cozy and comfortable with a sleek feel and warm finishes.

The updated menu will move away from traditional Italian and will focus on small and large plates with a Euro flair. Nightly specials will focus on fresh fish and premium grilled meats.

Many Stella Blu menu favorites can be enjoyed at sister restaurant, Gypsy Saloon. (more…)

PumpkinSUshiIn honor of autumn’s great harvest and Halloween, Executive Chef Patrick Feury and Sushi Chef Min Feng Zhena (“Jack”) have created the Tempura Tetsukabuto Pumpkin, Black Truffle Sushi Roll!

The roll is made with roasted pumpkin, avocado and pea-tops inside with tempura pumpkin outside. Tetsukabuto is also known as Japanese pumpkin, it’s yellow-orange in color and tastes very sweet.

Or, if you’re up for a Halloween cocktail on a on a chilly autumn night, try mixologist Christina Cunningham’s Pumpkin Pie Martini. It’s made with her own homemade pumpkin pie-filling, Godiva White Liqueur and vodka. It even has a ginger snap cookie garnish! (more…)

The new menu features seasonal dishes like Butternut Squash and Apple Cider Bisque, Applewood Bacon Wrapped Rainbow Trout with Savory Sage Stuffing, Wilted Baby Spinach, Bourbon – Pecan Butter Sauce and Wood Grilled Center Cut Filet Mignon with Texas Gulf Shrimp with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, Tomato – Basil Pan Sauce.

In addition, Chef deMarco’s classic Java Pork Tenderloin and Crispy Salt & Pepper Calamari remain house favorites.
