Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House is now open in beautiful, historic, downtown West Chester.

Owner Dave Magrogan, creator of the wildly successful Kildare’s Irish Pub, has done it again. For the past three years, Magrogan together with staff, designers, and a team of culinary experts traveled the country researching seafood houses. The end result is Doc Magrogan’s, an authentic oyster house experience.

“Just as Kildare’s has become the number one Irish Pub in Pennsylvania we are dedicated to making Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House a standard by which all other seafood restaurants are measured,” said Magrogan.

Dave Magrogan brought Tom “Twiggy” Mitchell on board as his Managing Partner. Mitchell is a West Chester resident and former owner of the West Chester Fish Market, a popular local seafood establishment.

Magrogan, Mitchell, and their executive team spent months developing an extensive, fresh, and unique seafood menu unlike anything found in the region. All seafood and raw bar items will be hand selected and inspected daily, only top quality products will be served at Doc’s.

“The key to the success of both Kildare’s and Doc Magrogan’s is authenticity. Guests are driven to authenticity, good value and to a restaurant that does one thing well. We intend to make our guests happy by doing just that,” said Magrogan.

Offerings on the menu include an array of appetizers, sandwiches, main entrees, burgers and an extensive raw bar. Specialties include New England Lobster Bake, Filet 5 Ways, Doc’s Famous Crab Cakes and Fish & Chips. Doc’s signature seafood preparations include Grilled Island Jerk Style with Dark Rum, Steamed with Old Bay Seasoning or Mediterranean grilled with black olive Tapenade and Tomato Polenta.

Doc Magrogan’s replicates a vintage 1920’s Oyster House with classic photos, antique fixtures, ornate vintage lighting, and 100-year-old floors. The decor creates a warm environment. No detail was missed when creating Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House.

The main bar area features a raw bar in the center where oysters are shucked and prepared right before your eyes. From design, concept, creation, and menu development, the project will exceed $1.7 million dollars.

Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House will be an exceptional seafood and raw bar experience that surpass guest’s expectations with top quality service, fresh ingredients and warm hospitality. Only the freshest seafood, finest handcrafted beers, and a superior wine selection will be served in this classic oyster house setting.

Doc’s will be a tribute to a romantic time in history as well as a wonderful addition to beautiful, historic West Chester, Pennsylvania. Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House is located on 117 East Gay Street, West Chester PA. Visit docmagrogans.com or call 610.429.4046 for more information.
