Chef Patrick Feury Cooks Up
Area Debut of New Healthy Lifestyle Book

It is probably very safe to say that Chef Patrick Feury has never worn a little black dress. Nor has he stressed about fitting into one. One thing Chef does know, however, is how to put a variety of rich, satisfying flavored ingredients on a plate. So flavorful that just a bit is intensely satisfying. For those of us of the female persuasion who love to eat, this is good news. And the news gets better and better.

On Tuesday, January 9th from 5PM to 10PM, Nectar restaurant’s Chef Feury teams up with authors Melissa Clark and Robin Aronson to present a menu based on the debut of their new book The Skinny: How to Fit into Your Little Black Dress Forever. Clark and Aronson’s philosophy is based on eating small amounts of full flavored satisfying foods, doctoring up favorites to present healthy alternatives and denying yourself nothing—within reasonable portions. Chef Feury’s farm fresh ingredients, pristine flavors and dedication to healthy organic fare is the perfect canvas to present Clark and Aronson’s figure management tome in its culinary form.

Feury’s 3 course tasting menu, offered along with the restaurant’s Asian-inspired a la carte menu, will feature three small plate tastes of ‘Skinny’ suggestions all delicious, satisfying and guaranteed not to adhere to the hips. The menu includes a first course of Watercress and Arugula Salad with Avocado, Goat Cheese, and Lime; Sesame-Roasted Mushrooms with Soba Noodles and Curried Vegetable Lentil Soup For the second course, Roasted Salmon with Carrots, Molasses and Chile; Seared Garlicky Shrimp over Mixed Greens; London Broil with Caramelized Pineapple; and finishing with Whole Grain French Toast with Fresh Papaya; Banana and Kiwi Smoothie; and Whole Wheat Cherry Scones.

The meal will be priced at $29 The book will be available for $22.95 Melissa Clark and Robin Aronson will be on hand to offer their insights, to meet and greet diners and sign their newest printed venture.

Created by food writer Melissa Clark and health writer Robin Aronson. Even at their heaviest weights, they agreed that dieting was not the answer. Why? Because these girls love to eat. So they came up with The Skinny — a non-diet approach that lets you enjoy food and still lose or maintain your weight. The Skinny isn’t a diet plan in the traditional sense. It’s a way of eating that will change commonly held thoughts about food. This simple and effective plan helped Melissa and Robin reach their goal weights and feel good about their bodies. The Skinny delivers tips and insights including meal plans that allow intrepid diners to eat what they really want and to savor each bite.

Melissa and Robin believe that when we sit down to eat, we should celebrate the pleasure of food, not fear the fat (or the carbs or the calories) in it. The Skinny shows how everyone can balance eating rich and eating smart so they can look fabulous in that ‘little black dress’ forever.
