About the Chef/Owners…
Chef Andrew Kochan:
Chef Andrew Kochan has deep roots in the Main Line area outside of Philadelphia. He grew up in Penn Valley, was graduated from the Haverford School for Boys and completed a degree in mathematical economics from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. Yet, with all indications pointing to a career in finance, Chef Kochan felt unsatisfied and drawn to an entirely different field.
In three short years Chef Kochan completed a second degree in Culinary Management, gained a coveted position in the kitchen of Chef Robert Halpern, rose to the rank of Sous Chef at Marigold Kitchen and subsequently purchased said business along with Chef Tim Lanza. Under the creative leadership of Chef Kochan, Marigold Kitchen is poised to become the most unique and exciting restaurant in Philadelphia.
Chef Tim Lanza:
Fortunately for the fine-dining enthusiasts of Philadelphia Chef Tim Lanza, a New Jersey native, chose to study and work in the city of Philadelphia. Having worked in medicine and studied marketing, Chef Lanza found himself drawn to the allure of the fine dining industry. He subsequently earned himself a degree in culinary arts from the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Philadelphia.
While completing his degree, Chef Lanza spent what little free time that he had working at the Marigold Kitchen under acclaimed Chef Robert Halpern. It was in that time that Chef Lanza developed his discipline and intensity, further expanded his skill sets and quickly earned the prestigious title of Chef de Cuisine.
